Lipstick

So lately I’ve become a little obsessed with lipstick, specifically the Rimmel and Maybelline brand, so I decided why not share some of my picks. Three of the above pictures come from the Kate Moss brand for Rimmel, and the other is Maybelline’s Color Sensational (Red Revival).

I’d probably say that Red Revival by Maybelline is my favourite and probably the best lipstick I’ve ever had.  I’m a sucker for red lipstick (though I am a big Rimmel fan). I think red lipstick makes any outfit look instantly better, or at least more interesting. I’m very unsure about the orange lipstick. I gave into what every magazine has told me about orange lipstick being a big spring trend, so I purchased the Orange 12 (it had no name, but just the number 12 so that’s what I’m calling it), and I’m just not sure. It’s a little too much for me. I think I like the darker shades of lipstick. Perhaps I should stick with the red hues? What do you guys think? Any favourite brands or shades? Or maybe you’re not a lipstick fan at all (though I highly suggest you join me in my lipstick craze).

Oh and here’s a little trick for putting on your lipstick:

It’s not necessarily a trick, but whenever I put on lipstick, I almost always add a little bit of gloss. I hate the feeling of really dry lips, which is what I feel lipstick does. Even just a tiny little dot of gloss will help you out. Plus it adds just a little shine! But just make sure not to add too much, because we’ve all seen the girl with the “you have too much lip gloss on” look, and none of us want to be that girl. I always use the Rimmel Vinyl Gloss (which is amazing). It’s actually probably the best lip gloss out there, in my opinion. If you don’t like lipstick, it works as a great alternative. I actually might say I like the Rimmel gloss better than then Rimmel lipstick.
