My Style Icon (atm): {Karen from Californication}

Hi all!

So I failed at my weekly photos post this week (well, last week technically). I actually had plans on Sunday and got caught up in everything (shocking! usually Sunday is so lazy). Anyway, I figured today I definitely needed to get a post up. I was going to get some outfit pictures, but it is literally FREEZING outside. A good, old Canadian winter, that’s for sure. I decided exposing myself to frostbite was not worth it. I could have done some pictures inside but I don’t think they look as good so I avoided that. If the weather keeps up like this, I’ll have no choice but to head indoors.

Today I wanted to share my current fashion icon obsession. Does anyone watch the show Californication? If you do, good. It’s awesome. If you don’t, you really should. My point? I am so obsessed with one of the character’s style choices: Karen. Of course I realize she is just a character and the stylist puts these outfits together, so I guess I’m more so acknowledging the stylist’s work. Regardless, I love pretty much all of the looks that have been put together for Karen throughout the six seasons (not to mention I just think she’s gorgeous and I want her hair). It’s difficult to find pictures highlighting her outfits, but here are the best I could do:

It’s all about slouchy shirts, jeans, hats, scarves, fun accessories, and really, anything that drapes and has that amazing casual look about it. Aiming for simplicity is sometimes nice. It doesn’t look so forced and it’s always generally appreciated by people. Whenever I see somebody who effortlessly can portray their style, I feel such respect for that. It’s not so in your face, and instead it’s a nice surprise to see something so casual that still manages to look great. That’s what I feel is so amazing about Karen’s style. What do you think? (unfortunately getting pictures is difficult, but if you watch the show you’ll definitely pick up in her style- it’s present throughout all 6 seasons and never falters).
