Outfits for Vacation {Part 1}

I’ve been driving myself nuts trying to thinking of interesting post ideas (the cold weather is preventing outfit posts considering I’m more so dressing to stay warm). So I started fantasizing about warm weather clothes which lead me to thinking about a vacation I took last year to Punta Cana, and all the cute outfits I could wear in that tropical paradise, so I figured why not share some of those outfits and the things that I think are essential to bring on vacation (you know, based off that one time I actually went somewhere tropical).

1 white shorts // 2 coloured shorts // 3 denim shorts // 4 cotton shorts 

Honestly, I think this is all you would need in terms of shorts if you’re going for a week. You can do so much with these, and if you’re like me, you’ll be in your bathing suit most of the day anyway. Oh and trust me, the addition of the cotton shorts is totally necessary! After getting out of the water, putting jean shorts on is TERRIBLE (especially tight ones!), so bring a pair of cotton. As I always say, comfort is key. I’d also maybe add the addition of a print short for something different (tribal, floral, stripped, whatever!)

Apparently I was really into lace and tribal print today. What do you guys think? I always feel that colour is key, especially when in a tropical area, but I also feel that doing a black/white skirt and then adding colour on top is really cool too. Also, black and white is a really big trend coming up (I did a post on it here), so that’s just an added bonus. I’d suggest mixing your packing with lots of colourful pieces, but then adding some more basic pieces that you can add jewelry and colourful tops to.
